Careers at Clarins

Case Studies

The following case studies demonstrate the dedication, pride and success that are typical of a Clarins employee.

Debbie Lewis, Managing Director

Debbie joined Clarins in 1985 as a Skin Care Specialist working in Selfridges. A year later she moved across to Harrods and in 1987 was made an Account Development Team Member. A few months later was promoted to Salon Area Manager for the south of England. In 1989 Debbie was promoted once more, this time to Regional Manager for the Midlands and then in 1991 for the south of England. At the end of 1994 she was made National Sales Manager and in January 1996 was made Commercial Director. Finally in 2013 she achieved her current role of Managing Director.

Lynn Nelmes, Regional Manager

Lynn was an account manager at John Lewis, Watford and turned the business around. Just one year later she was promoted to the Account Development Team and succeeded in achieving all her sales targets. It was no surprise therefore that in 1995 she was promoted to Salon Area Manager, and two years later won the coveted area manager of the year award. In 1999 she rejoined the account development team as London Coordinator, two years later became a Commercial Training Manager and was then promoted to Store Area Manager. Now with a wealth of experience, she was promoted again in 2006 to her current position of Regional Manager.

Charlotte Yapp, Training Administration Manager

Charlotte joined Clarins in Autumn 1992 as an Account Manager at Bentalls Ealing. Having honed her retail sales skills and displayed a talent for customer care, she was head hunted to join Customer Relations at head office responding personally to hundreds of letters and calls a week! It was here that the training department caught her eye, and in 1994 she was appointed Commercial Training Manager for the South East of England and in 2000 she was made Training Administration Manager, a role she still holds today.

Zoe Freer, Recruitment Manager and London Mobile Manager

In November 2011  I attended a Recruitment Demonstration Day by Clarins at the College I was attending, studying Level 2 and 3 Beauty Therapy. I instantly fell in love with the brand, the passion, the values, the ethics that were shared and now I wanted to be a part of it… and this is where my story  with unfolds.

I was offered a part time role of Skincare Specialist in Boots in Peterborough whilst I was still studying, once I qualified at college I was given the great opportunity to work in John Lewis Cambridge as a full time Skin Spa therapist, where we won Team of the Year! Building loyal customers and creating experiences through providing a service was something I was dedicated to and I managed to develop my people and business skills enough to progress into an Account Manager’s Role, in Boots Hampton. My creative flare and a love of our Brand created huge successes within the account and 13 months later I then became a  Clarins Angel on the  London Team. Taking leadership skills to the next level and motivating the team to bring in exceptional results was such a satisfying achievement. 10 months later I landed my dream career and became a part of the Training Team, covering various roles over 2 years in Training- from Classroom Trainer, Regional Commercial Training Manager and Treatment Training Manager-  I was in my element!  Sharing my passion for people and allowing them to fall in love with Clarins as much as I did every day is just so rewarding.

In July of this year I took on my most recent progression within my career as London Recruitment Manager and West End Mobile Manager, working with my team to support their own development and meeting new people that are ready to unfold their very own Clarins career story is something I am lucky enough to do every day. I’m so very proud of the Brand and the people I get to work with and I can’t wait to see what else my future at Clarins holds for me.
